We are a family based business in Redmond, WA. We operate a very small studio here in the Downtown Area. We are close to a ton of great places here in the middle of town. The Sammamish Slough (pronounced “slew”) is very close by, as well as Marymoor Park. We have been in business for around 20 years (although a couple of those years I think I was the only one who knew I was in business. . . . I have two amazingly talented sons who are amazing photographers.
We have been asked what is our specialty as far as photography goes. One night think how can that be such a tough question? Photography for me has always been this ability to stop time - to record that instant, or moment forever. It has always seemed to me that the world is spinning just a little faster every year. It really wasn’t that long ago that I was just a little kid looking at my grandparents photo albums that my grandfather had put together of all our family. I remember seeing relatives in those albums that I never met. Maybe that was what interested me in the permanence of photography, the fact I have the ability to create images that freeze time.
So I guess we are people photographers, visual family historians. There is nothing better than for us to attend a wedding and feel like like family. Our latest family that has “adopted” us is the Hargett’s. We did all three of their daughter’s weddings over the course of the past 4-5 years. Photographing Bethany’s Wedding in November at the Lake Union Cafe was like revisiting old friends.
